Over the past few weeks, I’ve been feverishly been following AI Twitter and seeing what they’ve been getting up to and it continually blows my mind how much the world around is going to be changing. I went through a collection of my Tweets to some of the most important things that I think you should pay attention to as it will impact all of us at some point in time Without further ado, let’s get into it!
Software will have to be more API driven — interfaces may become optional. The reasoning for this is that as software becomes easier to manipulate for non-programmers, there will be increased pressure from developers to ensure their apps are external API consumable. I already personally demand this from any app that I use since it means I can plug that piece of software into a larger part of my personal software stack aka second brain. This trend of “malleable software” is going to be one we see a lot more of. It’s strange to think that interfaces will becoming increasingly less important for certain software products! My little description doesn’t do justice to the full line of reasoning Geoffrey lays out.
The effects of LLMs in education. A cool prompt I found on how to make ChatGPT your instructor for anything you want. The idea is simple, you basically tell ChatGPT what you want to learn, how you want it to test you and to explicitly mention that you will be giving responses to questions it asks with it then giving you a rating and feedback. This is really neat since it empowers everyone with the ability to learn any skill in an interactive way rather than just consuming media. Suddenly, you could make ChatGPT generate quizzes for anything you want to increase your retention in! I’ve personally tried this out for a couple of soft-skills and the results are incredible.
